We feel like Cajá is still a bit of a secret in Europe. This little fruit from the Tropics is a great source of calcium, iron, phosphorus, vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B3 and vitamin C. Due to its sourness, Cajá - also known as Taperebá in Brazil and yellow mombin or hog plum in English speaking countries - is often combined with sweeter fruits. In this instance, Pineapple brings some sweetness. A banana is added for extra fibers and to make your smoothie creamier.
Ingredients
For 2x 300ml smoothie:
- 2x Tropix Cajá
- 1x Tropix Pineapple
- 1 banana
- 200ml water
Preparation
Run the pulp packs under warm water for a few seconds. This helps soften the pulp just enough so that it’s a little easier to slip out of its packaging. Combine the pulps and banana in a blender and mix at low speed until smooth, about 1-2 minutes. Add water slowly until you reach your desired consistency. Serve cold and enjoy!
