The very unique taste of cupuaçu is often compared to chocolate with hints of other fruits like banana, melon, and pineapple. Its rich consistency makes it perfect for creamy smoothies like this. Almond milk really brings out its natural flavor, but feel free to substitute for any other milk (or “milk") that you have available. Adding a banana gives it even more consistency - and vitamins.
And if you have never thought of adding oats to your smoothie, you are in for a surprise! Not only do the oat flakes bring more fibers into the mix, they also give it a very welcome crunch.
Ingredients
For 1x 500ml smoothie:
- 1x Tropix Cupuaçu
- 1 banana
- 170ml almond milk
- (Optional) Oat flakes
Preparation
Run the Cupuaçu pack under warm water for a few seconds. This helps soften the pulp just enough so that it’s a little easier to slip out of its packaging. Blend all ingredients to an even consistency. Start with less liquid and add a bit of a time until you reach the desired consistency. Pour into your favorite glass, top with oat flakes or any other toppings and enjoy!
